IMPORTANT MEETING
There will be a very important meeting held on Thursday, June 18 at 6:00 pm @ THS. Those cheerleaders who have not turned in their size forms need to bring them to the meeting. If you will not be able to attend the meeting, please contact one of the coaches and tell them the size of shoe you will need. Also, the deadline for business cards/adds is July 15. In order to receive your money earlier, you need to bring in the material received from the business so that we may put the money you have raised into your account before the next payment is due. At this meeting a schedule for summer practices will be available, as well as most of our camp wear with exception of the shoes due to some cheerleaders failing to turn in their sizes. Camp begins on June 22, so it is very important that you are able to either come to this meeting or get in touch with one of the coaches before camp starts!
Thank You,
Gini

Information on the new 3 squad plan
This year Tuscola is going to be trying a new cheerleading plan and it is as follows:
There will be a total of three different squads. For the football and basketball seasons there will be separate tryouts.
There still will be a competition squad, but the decision for who makes the competition team will be determined on the top 16 scores of all girls who tryout.
Due to the North Carolina High School Cheerleading Rules, a cheerleader who participates in competition must be cheering during the sport that is in process. Competition will occur during both football and basketball season, so those cheerleaders who want to tryout and participate on the competition team must cheer for both football and basketball.
If you only wish to try out for the football team you will not be eligible to cheer for competition.
On the day of the cheerleading try out clinic, April 25th, you will fill out a form to determine whether you would like to try out for the football team only, or tryout for the competition team (football and basketball). If you do make one of the top scores but only wish to cheer for football, you will be put on the football only squad.
For those cheerleaders who do tryout for both the football only and competition team, and do not make high enough scores to be a part of the competition squad, but do score high enough to be on the JV or Varsity football squad, you will be put on the football only squad.
If you wish to cheer for basketball and do not make the competition team, there will be another tryout held for basketball season cheerleaders.
This means that during the basketball season tryouts will be held to replace the football only cheerleaders. The basketball only cheerleaders will cheer at all home and away basketball games, but will not be eligible to compete.
On the day of the clinic you will be asked to do the following:
Check one, or both of the below:
Football only ________
Competition (Football and Basketball) _________
You must check both to be eligible for both positions. If you only check Competition, and did not meet the scoring requirements, but did score a high enough number to make the football only team but failed to select both options, then you will not be paced on the football only team. So, in order to be put on just competition or football only select a single team, if you wish to make any squad you are eligable for you must select both.
*Please be ready to make the above decision by April 25th.
